It seems like there was a little bit of everything this week. We are haying like crazy (when the rain lets us) and moving cows here and there. In the middle of the week we had to press pause and celebrate Independence Day. It was complete with parade, rodeo, and fireworks. The best part was my grandfather was Grand Marshal of the parade. My son, Quinlan was lucky enough to get to ride along and throw candy while my daughter got to ride with the Girl Scouts.
Of course, we can’t forget the storm that absolutely dumped rain on us for a short period in the afternoon.
We moved cows around a bit and shipped our steers to their new home in Nebraska.
Today, we moved our heifers to the corral so they will be ready to blood test for pregnancy in the morning. In the afternoon, my brother and I fixed fence. It’s beautiful up there, but the wet weather means the mosquitos are even in the high country and they helped to move me along a little faster.
I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July and are looking forward to a great week ahead.
